Alijah Arenas, the son of former NBA star Gilbert Arenas, was placed in an induced coma on Thursday after being involved in a serious car crash.

The 18-year-old committed to USC in January 2025, and there were big expectations for him on the basketball court.

Now, everybody is worried about his health, and reactions have come pouring in left and right after the report came from ESPN's Shams Charania

"According to a Los Angeles Fire Department public information officer, officials responded to a call at 4:55 a.m. after a Tesla Cybertruck crashed into a tree/fire hydrant with fire involved. The LAFD did not identify the person involved but said that the 18-year-old driver was out of the vehicle and that he was transported to the hospital in serious condition," Charania wrote.

Chicago Sky star Angel Reese was one of many to take to social media to send some wishes and prayers for Arenas: "Prayers for Alijah," Reese wrote on X.

It's a tough situation for everybody involved, and LeBron James' son, Bryce, took to Instagram with some wishes for Arenas.

"Praying for u," James wrote with a heart emoji and a praying hands emoji.

James recently committed to Arizona while Arenas committed to USC, and the two were stars for their respective high school teams.

James played at Sierra Canyon and Arenas at Chatsworth. Both teams played in the California CIF state championships in Sacramento earlier this year — Sierra Canyon in Division I and Chatsworth in Division II.
