The Los Angeles Clippers are keen to maximize their current core by retooling their roster this summer, and they reportedly have Jrue Holiday as one of their top trade candidates.

According to Boston Celtics insider Brian Robb, the Los Angeles Clippers plan to get the two-time NBA champion after missing out on him in the 2023 offseason.

“Holiday is expected to be pursued by several teams on the trade market, and a league source tells MassLive that the Los Angeles Clippers are one team expected to show interest in the 34-year-old guard this offseason,” Robb wrote in his column.

“The Clippers ultimately pivoted to acquiring James Harden from the Philadelphia 76ers in a blockbuster trade during the 2023-24 season after missing out on Holiday, but the Clippers have failed to make it out of the first round during the last two seasons,” he added.

Utah Jazz trio listed as Los Angeles Clippers’ “dream targets”

The Los Angeles Clippers may hesitate to pull the trigger on Jrue Holiday because of his advancing age and mammoth contract. If this is the case, Bleacher Report’s Greg Swartz suggests that the team should choose between Collin Sexton , Keyonte George, or Jordan Clarkson from the Utah Jazz.

“The Los Angeles Clippers should be placing some calls to Salt Lake City this offseason in an attempt to boost a scoring attack that ranked just 15th overall this year. James Harden can become a free agent and will turn 36 in August, meaning the Clippers would be wise to monitor his minutes, assuming the 11-time All-Star returns,” Swartz wrote in his column.

“Sexton, 26, averaged 18.4 points this season and actually began his career under Ty Lue with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Clarkson, 32, also played under Lue in Cleveland and George, 21, may be available after being benched by the Jazz halfway through this past season,” he added.
