Los Angeles Clippers’ Russell Westbrook Gets 100% Honest on Being Compared to Nikola Jokic in Triple-Doubles: ‘Ain’t Nobody Like Me’

Los Angeles Clippers point guard Russell Westbrook shut down any comparisons to Nikola Jokic when asked to react to his triple-double performance on Thursday night.

It was another day in the office for The Joker, as Nikola Jokic had 36 points, 17 rebounds, and 10 assists. However, Russell Westbrook’s Los Angeles Clippers came away with a 102-100 home win, so after the game, he felt the need to remind everyone the type of player he is.

“Ain’t nobody like me. We’re gonna stop that right there,” Westbrook said about Jokic via Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints. “Nikola is a hell of a player, but he’s not me, and I’m not him.”

“Obviously, he has won MVP, is a tough guard, an excellent passer, knows how to play the right way, and competes hard. Tonight, we got the best of him,” he added.

Russell Westbrook finding his groove with the Los Angeles Clippers

After missing 12 consecutive games due to a fractured left hand, Russell Westbrook has now played six straight games for the Los Angeles Clippers, averaging 11.3 points, 4.2 assists, and 3.7 rebounds per contest.

Against the Denver Nuggets on Thursday, Russell Westbrook had 12 points, six rebounds, five assists, one steal, and one block while shooting 4-of-9 from the field and 4-of-4 from the free throw line.

Since getting traded to the Los Angeles Clippers last season, Russell Westbrook has accepted a reduced role, serving as the backup point guard behind James Harden.

However, let’s not forget the player he once was, as he won the league MVP in 2017 and is the league’s triple-double king with 198 and counting.

Nikola Jokic has drawn comparisons to Russell Westbrook because he isn’t too far away from him. The Serbian center has 129 triple-doubles under his belt, and he’s climbing up the list fast, although he doesn’t seem to care much about it.
