Los Angeles Clippers vs. Minnesota Timberwolves odds & best bet

This is the No. 7 vs  No. 8 game in the Western Conference Play-In Tournament. At times it looked like Minnesota might be able to get up into that No. 6 spot to guarantee a full series, but they fell short in a season that was still a nice success story for the Timberwolves.

At least they get to host this game and they are favored at home against a Clippers team with a lot more playoff experience. If Minnesota wants to shake the reputation of being losers these are the games they have to start winning. It's as simple as that.

Clippers forward Paul George is an elite player but so is Minnesota big man Karl-Anthony Towns. Minnesota has more scoring depth and I am not worried that they lost to L.A. the one time they played each other at the Target Center this season. That was back in November. A lot has changed since then.

The thought with the Clippers is that they would get healthy for the playoffs and would be a factor in the Western Conference. The problem was they could only get George back on the court in time. With Kawhi Leonard yet to dress this season the Clippers are going to have to find someone else to step up and I am not optimistic about their chances.

The Timberwolves think they have their guy in Towns. I am not sure if he is truly elite but he has more around him than he ever has this season.

Second-year guard Anthony Edwards continues to develop as a scorer and when D'Angelo Russell is healthy Minnesota has more than enough scoring. Those guys are important but so is feisty guard Patrick Beverley. Beverley is familiar with the Clippers having played for them the last four seasons and he also gives Minnesota a bit of an edge, which is something you need this time of year.

Coach Chris Finch is coaching in the playoffs for the first time so there is some concern there. However, he is a pretty strong tactician and now he is showing he can win with the talent in Minnesota.

I feel like the Clippers are being overvalued with George back and a hot April in which they have gone 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS. Look closely at those games and they have been against bad and disinterested teams. If the Timberwolves get the pace they want they might run away with it.

The Timberwolves are going to lose in the playoffs but tonight they are a nice play.
