Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James scoffs at his haters who claim he has “no bag.” On the latest episode of the Mind the Game podcast, the four-time league MVP finally addressed the long-running narrative that he has no creativity and merely overpowers his opponents with his physical edge.
“When I was growing up, it wasn’t talked about it. The least amount of dribbles to get where you need to get to was what I grew up on. Michael Jordan wasn’t out there dribbling 1,000 times, you know, to get to the spot. He’d get to a spot and raise. Isiah Thomas, as great of a handle that Isiah Thomas had, Isiah would get to a spot and raise,” James explained.
“I see it all the time. It’s like, you know, I’ll be on social media, like, LeBron has no bag. LeBron has no bag, and I’m sitting over here with 50 billion points,” he ended.
To James’ point, the Los Angeles Lakers star is the NBA’s all-time leading scorer with 42,184 points in the regular season and 8,289 points in the playoffs.
Former nine-time NBA All-Star Dominique Wilkins believes that LeBron James should fully cede the keys to the Los Angeles Lakers to Luka Doncic since the former is closer to retirement and the latter is approaching his prime.
“It’s definitely Luka’s team. A 25-year-old guy compared to a guy who is 40. You should be willing to hand over those ranks to him. I don’t think that’s even a question. I think that’s what the plan is,” Wilkins said via Kyle Odegard of Esports Insider.
“Like everybody across the world, I was shocked,” he continued. “Luka, 25 years old and one of the top five or six players in the league. You trade a player like that? That’s a tough one to digest. Everybody was shocked, and maybe there was something there we don’t know. Who knows? But wherever he plays, they are going to be a team that has a chance.”
