The Oklahoma City Thunder are hosting the Los Angeles Lakers to wrap up its regular season home slate and finish the regular season series between these two.
Currently, the series is tied at one win apiece, with the Thunder taking home a win in La La Land back in November and the Lakers getting a lopsided win in the Paycom Center on Sunday.
These two teams seem to be on a collusion course to meet in the NBA Playoffs and this game will vary in importance based upon the status of stars.
Oklahoma City, who already has the No. 1 seed in the West locked up, is playing their entire rotation of players. The Thunder might get back its third string center, Jaylin Williams, who is listed as questionable for this game with an ankle injury.
The Lakers initially listed most of its rotation –– including its big three of Luka Doncic, LeBron James and Austin Reaves –– as questionable for this game.
Hours before tip-off, the Purple and Gold upgraded the trio, along with Dorian Finney-Smith and Gabe Vincent, to probable for this game.
This is a surprising revolution as the two sides each have to manage a back-to-back set. For the Lakers side of things, they have to head to Dallas for an emotionally charged game against the Mavericks and the THunder head to the Valley to take on the Suns.
Ultimately, this is a great thing for the league and its fans to see these two clash at full strength yet again. The hope from observers is that it is a more competitive affair this time around.
