In Luka Doncic's first game back in Dallas since being traded to the Los Angeles Lakers, he was not the only Slovenian to grab attention.
Doncic's mom, Mirjam Poterbin, also turned a lot of heads as she attended the game at American Airlines Center to show support for her son.
During the game, Poterbin shared a photo of herself wearing Doncic's Lakers jersey, which she paired with denim pants. The image also showed her son in the background, as he was warming up prior to the contest.
Poterbin did not write any caption, putting only purple, yellow and red heart emojis—a nod to the Lakers' purple and gold colors.
Sure enough, the post quickly drew plenty of reactions, with many cheering on Mirjam Poterbin and Luka Doncic.
"We love you and Luka!!" a commenter shared. Another one said, "The most beautiful."
"What an emotional game, what a great man Luka is, time and again, superchamp by super mommy," a fan wrote in Slovenian.
Several others simply commented with heart and fire emojis, highlighting how much they loved Poterbin's presence in the contest.
In another post, Poterbin also reacted to the Mavs' emotional tribute for Doncic. She shared a video showcasing the tribute as it was played in the jumbotron and captioned the post with folded hands, disappointed face and heart emojis.
As for the game, Doncic was definitely motivated in his return to Dallas. He exploded for 45 points, eight rebounds, six assists and four steals as the Lakers took down the Mavericks 112-97, and clinched their spot in the playoffs.
Sure enough, it was quite the big day for Doncic and his family.
