The Golden State Warriors were without Jimmy Butler on Saturday night, but were still able to seal the deal in the fourth quarter to defeat the Houston Rockets 104-93 victory, led by Stephen Curry who scored a game-high 36 points.
With his performance, the Warriors have now taken a 2-1 series lead and he even made some postseason history in the process. Following the game, it was revealed that Curry now has the most points ever by a point guard in the playoffs, surpassing San Antonio Spurs legend Tony Parker. It took him 76 fewer playoff games to accomplish the feat.
Curry received some high praise from another fellow legend at the point guard position as Hall of Famer Magic Johnson posted a clear message on X.
"I loved watching Steph Curry last night!" Johnson posted. "He was nothing short of amazing scoring 36 points and leading the Warriors to victory over the young Houston Rockets. Steph took charge with Butler out and put on a marvelous shooting display. Buddy Heild was huge scoring 17 points off the bench."

Johnson has been very vocal about the NBA postseason, offering insights, critiques, and predictions on how he believes things will unfold.
Before the series began, he predicted the Warriors would prevail in seven games, after giving an in-depth breakdown of both teams.
For the Golden State Warriors vs. Houston Rockets - there will be plenty of fireworks with the Houston Rockets! Nobody from the Warriors can stop Houston Center, Alperen Sengun," Johnson said on April. 17. "The Rockets are more athletic than Golden State led by Jalen Green, Amen Thompson, and Alperen Sengun - and Fred VanVleet is a NBA champion with plenty of Playoff experience."
He continued, "Golden State with future Hall of Famer and the best shooter in the NBA Steph Curry are going to need playoff Jimmy Butler to also dominate, but who else will step up for the Warriors in this match up? I saw Brandin Podziemski score 28 points against my Lakers. If Jonathan Kuminga answers as the X factor, I’m thinking Warriors in 7."
