Buzelis made a late push for All-Rookie honors, earning a place in the Bulls' starting lineup and averaging 13 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks in 27 games after the All-Star break.
Many believed Buzelis could have made the All-Rookie First Team and possibly contended for Rookie of the Year if he had played more minutes earlier in the season. However, Buzelis expressed his gratitude for the way head coach Billy Donovan guided his development.
The All-Rookie First Team consists of Stephone Castle, Zaccharie Risacher, Jaylen Wells, Zach Edey, and Alex Sarr.
