Miami Heat Acquire Toronto Raptors Player in Late Trade Move

The Miami Heat pulled off one of their biggest trades in recent memory as Jimmy Butler headed to the Golden State Warriors in return for Andrew Wiggins, Kyle Anderson, P. J. Tucker and a 2025 first-round pick (protected).

There were a couple more teams involved in the trade as well. The Utah Jazz will get Dennis Schroder and the Detroit Pistons will receive Lindy Waters III and Josh Richardson.

Overall, it was a good trade for the Heat. The Butler situation had become untenable and they got a decent return.

One could argue that we might see a better version of the Heat moving forward. Yes, Butler was by far the best player in the trade. But one cannot overlook the fact that he had not played much this season and even when he did, he did not look anywhere near his best.

Wiggins is a more than decent player in return and will bring a lot to the table for the Heat, including Championship experience.

On the other hand, the Heat have made another trade and already moved Tucker, as they continue to reshape their roster in the post-Butler era.

According to Shams Charania, the Toronto Raptors are trading Davion Mitchell to the Miami Heat for Tucker, a second-round pick and cash.

Mitchell has been averaging 24.5 minutes per game for the Raptors this season, putting up 6.3 points, 4.6 assists and 1.9 rebounds along with decent shooting efficiency.

So, expect the point guard to be a part of the rotation for the Heat as they look to make a run for the playoffs.
