Miami Heat: Tyler Herro’s Solid 2024-25 Campaign Draws 'Most Improved Player' Endorsement From Teammate

Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro is in the middle of his best individual season. The Kentucky earned his first NBA All-Star selection this year and helped his team clinch a play-in tournament berth despite the ups and downs they’ve been through.

Despite this, Herro is not the favorite to win the Most Improved Player of the Year award, leaving veteran teammate Kyle Anderson confused. According to Odds Shark, Cade Cunningham and Dyson Daniels are among the betting favorites for the recognition.

“Cade Cunningham? Stop giving it to No. 1 and No. 2 picks,” Anderson said via Ira Winderman of Sun Sentinel. “They’re doing what they’re supposed to be doing.”

“Dyson Daniels? Give him Defensive Player,” he continued as he then spoke about Herro. “He’s getting off the ball a lot earlier than when I first got here. He’s taken his game to another level this year. And it’s fun to watch. It’s super impressive.”

Tyler Herro averages 23.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 5.5 assists on 47.1 percent shooting from the field across 76 starts. Those numbers should be good enough to win Most Improved, but the Miami Heat star knows the voting is out of his hands.

“That’s not up to me,” Herro said, “ask the voters.”

Herro has bigger things to worry about than winning the Most Improved Player of the Year award, as Miami fell to 10th in the Eastern Conference at 36-44 following last night’s loss against Chicago.
