Michael Jordan On Which Player He'd Pay $5 To See Play: "I Would Pay To See Scottie Pippen Play. I Think He Is The Ultimate Team Player."

Michael Jordan thinks Scottie Pippen is the ultimate team player and he would even pay money to see him play basketball.

Over the course of the league's history, many iconic duos have been formed. Among them, the Chicago Bulls' duo of Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen is regarded as one of the best ever.

Prior to Pippen's arrival to the Bulls, MJ may already be a great individual player, but he struggled to find success in the postseason. However, following Pippen's rise to stardom, the Bulls started to dominate in the playoffs as well.

It is evident from the fact that MJ and Pippen helped the Bulls win six NBA Championships in the 1990s. The duo broke up after winning the 1998 NBA Championship when Mike decided to retire for the second time in his career, and then-GM Jerry Krause decided to dissolve the dynasty.

Michael Jordan Would Pay To See Scottie Pippen Play Basketball

The two stars played 691 regular season and 168 playoff games together during their stint with the Bulls. Evidently, they played a lot of games together. But during an interview with the SLAM magazine, when MJ was asked to name a player that he would pay to see play, he named Scottie Pippen.

Via SLAM Online:

SLAM: OK, no more game Qs. If you only had $5, who would you pay to see play ball?

MJ: I would pay to see Scottie Pippen play. I think he is the ultimate team player. A guy that can score, pass, rebound and play defense. I also think he’s great to have in the locker room. We have been closer this year and I have really enjoyed that.

Mike didn't stop with Scottie's praise just yet. He also talked about Pippen essentially having no weaknesses in his game.

SLAM: Have you ever seen anybody do anything on the court that made you say, “Damn, I wish I could do that?”

MJ: I’m telling you, Scottie does a lot of things on the court that amaze me. He moves really well and has those long arms and legs, and basically has no weaknesses. Also, he’s matured and is confident of his role on this team. At times, he amazes me.

Over the years, the relationship between the two players has worsened slowly. So much so that it was reported Scottie Pippen didn't attend the NBA's Top 75 ceremony because Michael Jordan was coming to it. Hopefully, the two legends can sort things out between them and reveal more stories during their time together with the Bulls.
