Former WVU G Miles “Deuce” McBride had a nice performance in game six of the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Indiana Pacers. McBride finished with 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the field in 35 minutes.
Despite McBride’s efforts, the Knicks fell in game six as the Pacers forced game seven. New York and Indiana will play on Sunday afternoon at Madison Square Garden for a spot in the Eastern Conference Finals against the Boston Celtics.

McBride is coming off of a 17 points and four-assist performance in game five. The former Mountaineer is averaging 11.2 points in 27.3 minutes against Indiana in the series.
In December, McBride signed a $13 million extension with the Knicks over the next three years. The Knicks have traded away many players throughout the season, allowing McBride to pick up more minutes in the rotation. McBride has started sporadically when the Knicks have been injured and his minutes have been all over the place.
McBride averaged 8.3 points through 68 regular season games while averaging 19.5 minutes per contest.
McBride saw more opportunities during his second year in the NBA with the Knicks. McBride appeared in 64 games during the 2022-23 season. McBride averaged 3.5 points and 1.1 assists last season. The Cincinnati, Ohio, native shot 36 percent from the field. The Knicks picked up McBride’s team option before NBA free agency began this past offseason.
McBride played two seasons at West Virginia from 2019-21, leading the Mountaineers to an NCAA Tournament appearance during his sophomore year. McBride averaged 15.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.9 steals per game.
