Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo, Damian Lillard Solidify Status as NBA’s Most Lethal Duo
Petre Thomas-USA TODAY Sports

Throughout the NBA’s history, there have been several superstar pairings that became a force to be reckoned with on the court. This season, it looks like Milwaukee Bucks stars Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard is the duo to look out for in the league.

At this point in the season, the Bucks are third in the Eastern Conference with a 41-23 record, just behind the Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers. While their 16th-ranked defense may need some work, the team boasts an offense that’s fifth among 30 teams in the NBA.

The core of that offense, it seems, is the All-Star duo of Antetokounmpo and Lillard. The latter is averaging 24.7 points on 35 percent shooting from deep, 4.4 rebounds, and 6.9 assists per game. The Greek Freak, meanwhile, is getting 30.8 points on 61 percent shooting from the field, 11.2 rebounds, and 6.5 assists per contest.

With the two playing well at the same time on the court, the Bucks have the strength to overcome most contenders in the NBA. And with momentum coming in at the right time, it looks like Milwaukee is going to finish the regular season strong, all thanks to their two All-Stars working well together on the court.

Milwaukee Bucks Stars Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard Have Become NBA’s Most Lethal Duo, Thanks to a New Record

As it stands, the Antetokounmpo-Lillard pairing isn’t like any other duo in the NBA right now. As seen in a tweet by the Bucks’ official account on X, the two stars are really that dominant when they are both locked  in.

“Giannis and Dame are the first duo in NBA HISTORY to have 20+ PTS and 10+ AST in back-to-back games,” the Bucks’ official X account tweeted.

The games mentioned here are a win over the Los Angeles Clippers and a loss against the Los Angeles Lakers. Both Lillard and Antetokounmpo posted more than 25 points and 10 assists in both contests, making them the first duo in NBA history to do so.

It looks like both the Greek Freak and Dame Time are hitting their respective strides at the right time. This is good, especially after all the drama in Milwaukee due to Doc Rivers’ hiring and Adrian Griffin’s recent termination. If these two All-Stars can take their game up to the next level, there’s no telling how high the Bucks can go in the postseason.
