Milwaukee Bucks: Giannis Antetokounmpo odds to remain with team skyrocket amid latest injury report

The Milwaukee Bucks are just 12-19 on the season following their loss on Friday night to the Memphis Grizzlies. Obviously, this is not the kind of record many expected them to have considering they have Giannis Antetokounmpo on the team and surrounded him with some of the best three-point shooters in the NBA this year.

Unfortunately, Giannis has been injured and missed the last eight games. During his absence, Milwaukee went 2-6 and it became very apparent that the talent around him must improve in order for the Bucks to dig themselves out of the hole they are in.

Of course, there have been rumors circulating for months (really years) that the two-time NBA MVP will request a trade out of Milwaukee. However, in recent weeks, those rumors have died down and now odds are starting to point to what Bucks fans have hoped for all along.

Odds are favorable that Giannis Antetokounmpo will remain with the Milwaukee Bucks

During the offseason, many reports stated that Giannis and the Bucks nearly parted ways this summer. After the season started, many of these rumors turned into reports that the two sides were close to a divorce.

And, as Bucks fans believed all along, they turned out to be false.

On Saturday, odds that Giannis will remain in Milwaukee went up to 63% according to Polymarket Sports:

Based on the caption, one can tell that many outside of Milwaukee are not thrilled with this news as many NBA fans from other cities would love to have him on their team.

Of course, this does not mean that he will remain with the Bucks past this season. Depending on how he views the direction of the team, he could ask for a trade next summer.

That being said, Giannis has stated in the past that he is not the kind of guy who asks for a trade. At the same time, though, the final year of his contract with Milwaukee in 2027-28 is a player option, one he could turn down.

Hopefully, though, the nine-time All-Star is convinced by the organization that it will be better for him to remain with the only team he has ever known in the NBA and they can keep him around even longer.
