Giannis Antetokounmpo has spent the first 12 seasons of his NBA career with the Milwaukee Bucks, but that could all change this summer if the team ultimately decides to trade him.
According to Golden State Warriors guard Brandin Podziemski, a Wisconsin native, Antetokounmpo shouldn’t demand a trade since seeing him in another NBA jersey “doesn’t feel right.”
“It’s like Steph (Curry) not playing for the Warriors,” Podziemski said via the Up & Adams Show. “All guys who’ve cemented their legacy and what they’re about in this league on one team, you never expect it to change.”
“It’s the same as Luka (Doncic) in Dallas. The whole world is shocked because of the player that he is, and you could see that they were building around him. It’s like any star in the league that stays with one team. You expect them to be in one jersey, and anywhere else just doesn’t seem right at all,” he added.
The New York Knicks are urged to trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo, given his uncertain future with the Milwaukee Bucks. FS1’s Colin Cowherd believes New York are better off with the Greek Freak as their best player.
“The Knicks can’t beat good teams,” Cowherd said. “They’re 0-3 against the Celtics, 0-2 against OKC, 0-2 against the Cavs, and that’s great in a way. Because there’s 100% clarity in the building that they’re good, and some nights, very good, but they’re not great. They’ve got to do what the Lakers did. LeBron and AD were good. They actually won a title, and the Lakers moved off of it.”
“I think it’s Giannis,” he continued. “My take on this: you’d probably have to move KAT. You’d probably have to move OG. You’re going to have to get rid of Mikal Bridges, or an OG, and about five first-round round picks. That’s what they’ve got to do.”
