Following up his formal post-signing introduction, the Milwaukee Bucks social team gave fans a more personal Myles Turner introduction in a casual Q&A session with the roster’s new classmate. First-day-of-school-style, Turner rattled off a number of things about himself, including his favorite player growing up, his preferred emoji, his hobbies, and what job he’d have if he wasn’t an NBA star. One thing that might surprise people, he was asked? Being a cat dad. “MT” loves his feline fur babies.
Coming from the hated Pacers, Turner has nonetheless been welcomed with open arms by most Bucks fans. If anyone hates him now, it’s his ex-supporters in Indiana, outraged at his so-called defection even though all the front office had to do was pay him. Losers, weepers.
For his favorite childhood player, Turner named Hall of Famer Dirk Nowitzki. The choice makes sense when one considers that Dirk paved the way for the era of stretch fives like Turner. The Mavericks legend was still playing when Turner entered the league in 2015-16, and would continue to do so through the latter’s fourth season. Turner is living up to the model, shooting a career-best 39.6% from deep last year on a career-high 156 makes.
For gettig him into basketball, the 10-year veteran credits his parents. His first NBA jersey? Dwayne Wade, another call-back to the legends of the 2000s and 2010s.
Unsurprisingly, Turner listed Legos among his hobbies, a passion for which he became famous last season after an on-court kerfuffle with Detroit’s Isaiah Stewart. The UCS Death Star model is the prize of his collection. “They’re coming out with another one this year, so, stay tuned,” Turner said with a wink.
