With the commitment of Giannis Antetokounmpo , the Milwaukee Bucks are looking to help accomplish their star’s goal of returning to the NBA Finals. With the goal of adding younger talent to replace the aging core around Antetokounmpo, the Bucks have the ability to change the direction of their franchise with the right move.
The Milwaukee Bucks appear to be moving forward with Giannis Antetokounmpo, and as they look to retool the roster around their superstar, there are several avenues the team could pursue. The goal of course, is to help Antetokounmpo carry the team as far as he is able to.

With multiple big-name players routinely arising in trade scenarios, what high-profile players would Milwaukee potentially look to acquire?
One name gaining steam in NBA trade rumors is Washington Wizards guard Jordan Poole. The Bucks certainly have needs in the backcourt and the 25-year-old guard would give the team a strong second scoring option.

Poole is a player capable of truly magical performances, as evidenced by his critical role on the 2022 NBA champion Golden State Warriors, but also bizarrely poor play, as evidenced by his laughable low-lights in Washington. Nonetheless, he is a player who has averaged over 20 points per game two of the last three years. He could be an intriguing addition for Milwaukee, who might still want to add a top offensive player after being heavily linked to Zach LaVine during the 2025 trade deadline.
Some Bucks fans could understandably balk at acquiring another high-volume player from the Wizards given how poorly the Kyle Kuzma move turned out to be.
ESPN has devised several ideas for the Bucks to add another high-level starter to the team. In this scenario, the Bucks would send out their remaining first round picks in 2031 and 2032 as well as Kuzma in exchange for Brooklyn Nets wing Cam Johnson.
Johnson is a player who has improved almost every year of his NBA career. Coming off a season where he averaged 18,8 points per game on 47.5-39.0-89.3 shooting splits, many teams in the league will be interested in acquiring him. Milwaukee could add an elite role player to their starting lineup.
The Bucks are clearly hoping for a big addition to the team, but with their limited amount of assets, they will need to ensure any move they make is the right one.
