The Minnesota Timberwolves are looking to get over the hump after back-to-back trips to the Western Conference Finals.

The Timberwolves have been close to reaching their first NBA Finals in franchise history, but have fallen short in two consecutive seasons.

Minnesota is positioned to be competitive in the West once again with their star Anthony Edwards entering his sixth season, Julius Randle entering his second season with the team and Rudy Gobert looking for a bounce-back year.

With the NBA season fast approaching, the Timberwolves have made a signing, lining up their 14th man.

Minnesota Timberwolves sign Bones Hyland

The Timberwolves have added to their guard room, signing Bones Hyland, according to HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto.

Hyland has averaged 9.5 points in four NBA seasons combined with the Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Clippers, and Minnesota Timberwolves where he played in four games last season. Hyland had a huge performance with the Iowa Wolves, during his time with the team’s G League affiliate.

For his career, Hyland has averaged 9.5 points and 2.6 assists while shooting 40 percent from the floor and 36 percent from deep.

He has shown his offensive spark, scoring at least 20 points 19 times, which included a career-high 37-point outing with the Clippers in 2024.

His efficiency has been inconsistent, but Hyland definitely has the scoring tools.

NBA world reacts to Minnesota Timberwolves bringing in Bones Hyland

The Timberwolves seem to be high on Hyland and preferred him over other options.

Timberwolves writer Jon Krawczynski reported that “The Wolves chose him over other candidates to add depth to the guard rotation.”

One fan thinks Hyland is going to benefit with the Timberwolves for another season, writing, “They’re not ready for our breakout.”

Another fan speculated his fit with Edwards, proclaiming, “Watch ANT MAN turn him into a monster.”

“Whenever I see Bones’ name, I think about all the adversity he had to overcome. Such an inspiring dude. Rooting for him to stick in the league for years to come,” another fan wrote.
