Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards had an all-around game to lead the team to a 116-104 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers. Edwards finished the game with 29 points on 46.2 percent shooting from the field. The three-time All-Star also had eight rebounds and eight assists. With their win, Minnesota now holds a 2-1 series lead against LeBron James and the Lakers.
Aside from Edwards, two other players scored at least 20 points for the Wolves. Forward Julius Randle had 22 points and five rebounds on 46.2 percent shooting from the field. Jaden McDaniels led the team in scoring with 30 points and was a pest on defense with his two steals.
During the third quarter, the crowd at Target Center erupted after Edwards had a massive poster dunk on Luka Doncic. The former Georgia star drove baseline and soared over the Slovenian star for a two-handed monster jam.

Following the win, Edwards was asked about his poster dunk. The 23-year-old guard admitted that he wasn’t the biggest fan of his aerial maneuver and called it “terrible.”
“That was a terrible dunk. I wish I could get it back, I would’ve crunk it back a little more,” the Minnesota Timberwolves star said.

Edwards has built a reputation for being one of the best in-game dunkers. He’s put countless players on posters with his vicious dunks.
The star guard is looking to take advantage of Game 4 in Minnesota. They’ll play against L.A. for the fourth game in their best-of-seven series on Sunday.
Edwards had one of the best scoring performances in the 2025 NBA playoffs. His 29-point outing was highlighted since he did not attempt a single free throw against the Lakers. The star shooting guard did not make a single trip to the charity stripe.
According to StatMuse on X (formerly Twitter), Edwards had the highest scoring playoff performance for the franchise without shooting a free throw.

The Wolves shot 71.4 percent and had 21 line attempts. Conversely, the Lakers made 65 percent with 20. With ten shots, Randle had the most and made 90 percent of them.
Even with the win, Edwards had high praise for his opponent. During the postgame interview, the Wolves star credited LeBron James for his performance. The 40-year-old forward had 38 points and 10 rebounds on 13-for-21 shooting from the field. Ant-Man spoke highly of King James, despite the four-time champion suffering a defeat.
“He was incredible,” Edwards said about James. “He did everything he could in his power to try to will them to a win. He was shooting it from Yucatan. He was shooting it crazy… It was fun to watch him — competing against him today.”
James shot 55.6 percent from downtown but was spoiled by the Minnesota Timberwolves’ star outing.
