The Golden State Warriors have had a strong start to the season as they have won two of their first three games.

Of course, the Warriors were expected to be a threat in the Western Conference this season behind their star trio of Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green.

Golden State also made some key additions to their roster in the offseason after the drama surrounding Jonathan Kuminga ended in a new contract as they signed Al Horford, De’Anthony Melton, Seth Curry and Gary Payton II.

So far, the Warriors have looked like they are going to be a contender in the West this season and they may look to make moves ahead of the trade deadline to upgrade their roster.

Suns Could Show Interest in Warriors' Jonathan Kuminga

For the Warriors, many around the NBA expect them to shop Kuminga ahead of the trade deadline to upgrade their roster, though that may not be the case with how the young forward has started this season.

Despite this, Golden State may still look to trade Kuminga this season and one team that could show interest in him is the Phoenix Suns as they reportedly showed interest in him during the offseason.

Of course, the Suns began a rebuild in the offseason as they moved on from Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal, leaving the future of their franchise in the hands of Devin Booker and they may look to make a move for Kuminga to add another young talent next to their star.

While moving Kuminga may be a tough decision for the Warriors to make with his strong start to the season, swapping him for Allen and Richards could work in their favor.

For Allen, he would provide the Warriors with a solid scorer and defender at the guard position who could either start next to Curry in the backcourt or come off the bench to upgrade their second unit.

This season, the 30-year-old guard is averaging 15.7 points, 3.3 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 1.0 steals per game while shooting 44.4% from the field and 42.3% from three through three games.

Allen is a great defender and 3-point shooter who could be a solid fit in Steve Kerr’s system if they were to pull off this deal.

For Richards, he would give the Warriors another much-needed big man who could have a large role either off the bench or in the starting lineup next to Green.

The 27-year-old center has had a slow start to this season with the Suns’ improved frontcourt depth as he has seen his minutes take a hit, but that could change in Golden State where he could become a key player for the Warriors due their need of frontcourt depth.

While this trade could work out well for Golden State, they may elect to hang onto Kuminga this season unless they can use him to land another star player as they try to make a run at another championship.
