With NBA 2K26 set to launch tomorrow, the latest patch delivers stability fixes across modes
The excitement is high as NBA 2K26 officially launches on September 5th, bringing the latest entry in the long-running basketball franchise to fans around the world. To make sure players hit the ground running, the development team has pushed out a new patch just one day before release. Version 1.2 went live September 4th and, notably, does not include gameplay adjustments. For many, that’s a good thing — with launch just hours away, keeping the core mechanics intact avoids unnecessary disruption while still addressing stability issues.
In this update, no gameplay adjustments were made, with developers instead focusing on stability and fixes across multiple modes.
Within The City, users should notice smoother experiences, with crashes and disconnects in Pro-Am and MyCOURT addressed. Issues with Takeovers in Lifetime Challenges and the treadmill workout in the Gatorade Training Facility have also been fixed, ensuring progression tracks properly.
MyCAREER players will now earn VC rewards as expected for GOAT Skills Accolades, restoring balance to the grind. MyTEAM saw its Auction House menus improved for performance, while a frustrating bug that removed coaches from lineups after edits has been eliminated. Safeguards were also added to prevent players from getting stuck in the Welcome to MyTEAM tutorial.
For franchise fans, MyGM received attention as well. Offseason tasks that previously failed to complete will now function properly, keeping the mode flowing.
With NBA 2K26 dropping tomorrow, this patch helps ensure a more stable experience for launch, while developers have already promised a larger wave of fixes ahead of Season 2.
