With the All-Star game just a few weeks away, the NBA has announced the list of the NBA All-Star reserves, and there are some interesting names. Victor Wembanyama, Cade Cunningham, Alperen Sengun, Jalen Williams, Tyler Herro, and Evan Mobley have earned their career-first All-Star nominations. Anthony Davis, James Harden, Damian Lillard, and Darius Garland surprisingly didn't earn starting spots.

It's great to see so many first-time All-Star players. With six first-time All-Stars this season, this is the highest number of new All-Stars the NBA has seen in quite some time. If anything, this year has been a testament to the new generation of the NBA, and why the league is in safe hands. The next generation is starting to take over, and it is very exciting to see.
Of course, the All-Star list is never without controversy, as players like Anthony Davis, Darius Garland, Anthony Edwards, and James Harden will feel slighted with a reserve spot rather than a starting spot this season. They have all been playing some really good basketball, but for whatever reason, the NBA has picked players ahead of them.
The NBA is yet to announce the starters for the NBA All-Star game. We most likely will have to wait a little bit longer to see that list. But one thing is for sure. Given the wealth of talent on the reserve list, the All-Star starters will represent the absolute best of the best the NBA has to offer.
