Detroit Pistons star Cade Cunningham had a brilliant 2024-25 campaign, leading the club to a 44-38 record -- the No. 6 seed in the Eastern Conference -- for a spot in the NBA Playoffs.
The fourth-year pro took a major leap. Cunningham was the No. 1 overall selection in the 2021 NBA Draft -- following a superb freshman season at Oklahoma State -- and he took an All-Star jump this season.
Cunningham averaged 26.1 points, 6.1 rebounds and 9.1 assists per game, standing out as a borderline superstar for the Pistons.
The club is seeing the guard realize his potential as the former No. 1 overall pick.
While Detroit saw a first-round exit at the hands of the New York Knicks, their season was highly encouraging, and they'll be in a similar spot for years to come, led by Cunningham's brilliance.
On Friday, the NBA announced major news regarding the Pistons star, too. The league announced all three All-NBA teams, and Cunningham made the All-NBA Third Team after his remarkable campaign.

Evidently, Cunningham could have certainly made the second team, and there wouldn't have been a fuss about it. That's how good his season was.
Still, an All-NBA selection is exactly what it is, regardless of which team he made.
The honor highlights how special he was for Detroit during their turnaround season -- and much of the franchise's turnaround can be attributed to his leap to borderline superstardom.
In his first and lone playoff series, Cunningham averaged 25.0 points, 8.3 rebounds and 8.7 assists per game. His all-around performance bodes well for future postseason appearances, too.
