Los Angeles Clippers star James Harden continues to climb the NBA record books. On Wednesday against the San Antonio Spurs, he made more history.
Over the past couple of weeks, Harden has already tallied a couple of new records. In a Jan. 19 game against the Los Angeles Lakers, he moved to 14th on the all-time scoring list after dropping 21 points.
Four days later, against the Washington Wizards, Harden recorded his 79th career triple-double with 17 points, 12 rebounds and 13 assists. In the process, he surpassed Wilt Chamberlain for sole possession of the eighth spot on the all-time triple-doubles list.
In their showdown with the Spurs, Harden broke the record of another NBA legend, as the Clippers guard moved to 13th on the all-time assists list. Rod Strickland previously held the spot with 7,987 career dimes.

Entering Wednesday's game, James Harden needed just two assists to surpass Rod Strickland. He finished the contest with 11 assists to go along with his 21 points and three rebounds.
Making it even better, the Clippers beat the Spurs, 128-116 , and improved to 27-20 on the season. L.A. remains in the top six of the Western Conference, a game ahead of the seventh-seeded Minnesota Timberwolves.
As long as Harden continues to play at a high level, the Clippers should be able to contend for a postseason spot.
