Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves were battling for a spot in the Western Conference Finals when the NBA star marked his name in the history books.
On Wednesday, the Timberwolves faced off against the Stephen Curry-less Golden State Warriors, as the league superstar previously suffered a hamstring injury.
Before competing against the Warriors in Game 5 of the second-round series, Edwards and the Timberwolves had won three straight games up to that point.
They fell in Game 1 when Curry went down, playing just 13 minutes, and have since put themselves in a position to compete for the Western Conference title.
Amid the Timberwolves' success, the NBA posted a historic note on Edwards.
"Anthony Edwards is just the SIXTH player in NBA history to score 1K playoff points before the age of 24, joining: Kobe Bryant, Tony Parker, LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Jayson Tatum," posted the official social media account of the NBA.

Edwards has been the focal point of the Minnesota Timberwolves' success, having another incredible year early in his NBA career.
So far this season, Edwards has posted 27.6 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game. He's the Timberwolves' leading scorer at 23, helping guide a team of established stars and role players, including Naz Reid, Rudy Gobert, Mike Conley and Jaden McDaniels.
Anthony Edwards is currently playing in his fifth season in the NBA, having already been named a three-time All-Star and a member of the 2023-25 All-NBA team.
Edwards may be young in his NBA career, but he's already positioned himself to be potentially viewed as the face of the league moving forward.
