NBA best bets: Big man, big price on Luka prop

With eight games on the NBA schedule for Wednesday night, there's plenty of value to be found in the alternate prop markets.

Let's comb through the options and target a few plus-money props for a humpday payout.

Big-money alternate props for Wednesday's NBA slate

Luka Doncic to score 40+ points (+650 FanDuel)

Doncic has a knack for struggling in back-to-backs, but this is a much different situation. The Dallas Mavericks star played only 26 minutes against the New Orleans Pelicans Tuesday night because the game was over by the third quarter, so he should be fresh for a great matchup against the Washington Wizards.

The Wizards play at the fastest pace in the NBA, and they're allowing the third-most points per game in the league. Doncic will be able to get whatever he wants in this matchup, so a +650 price for him to score 40 points seems more than fair.

Dennis Schroder to have a double-double (+475 DraftKings)

Schroder is the leading assist man on the Toronto Raptors with 7.7 per game, and he already has four double-doubles in 10 games played this season. That's a 40 percent clip, yet the +475 odds reflect a 17.4 percent chance.

As for the matchup, the Milwaukee Bucks rank 24th in the NBA in points allowed per game and defensive efficiency. This should be a high-scoring game with plenty of assist chances for Toronto's starting point guard.

In the news ...

Browns QB Deshaun Watson needs season-ending surgery — Cleveland Browns fans were on top of the world Sunday when Watson engineered a second-half comeback against the Baltimore Ravens and looked the best he has all season, but, in typical Browns fashion, the good times didn't last. On Wednesday morning, the team announced Watson fractured a bone in his throwing shoulder and will undergo season-ending surgery to repair it. P.J. Walker will take over the starting job for the rest of the year. Despite their 6-3 record, the Browns are now +450 long shots to win the AFC North.

Georgia jumps Ohio State for top spot in CFP rankings — The College Football Playoff committee has finally seen enough to rank Georgia, the two-time reigning national champions, the best team in the nation. The Bulldogs jumped Ohio State to take over the top spot in the rankings after a dominant 52-17 win against Ole Miss. Michigan and Florida State remained in the top four, while Washington and Oregon are still on the outside looking in. Although Georgia is the new No. 1, Michigan is the favorite to win the national championship at +220.

Three players ejected after Warriors-Timberwolves on-court brawl — Golden State Warriors fans were barely settled in their seats for Tuesday night's matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves when the game turned into a street fight. After only one minute of action, Klay Thompson and Jaden McDaniels got into a shoving match near mid-court, then Draymond Green entered the scrum and put Rudy Gobert in a headlock. The referees eventually separated both teams and ejected Thompson, McDaniels and Green. Of course, the Wolves went on to win by three as three-point favorites.
