NBA Fans Think Shams Charania's Body Language Might Reveal Kevin Durant's Next Destination

Kevin Durant's future is one of the biggest talking points in the basketball world at the moment, as a parting of ways with the Phoenix Suns appears imminent. Iman Shumpert named the San Antonio Spurs as the ideal landing spot for Durant on Hoop Streams , and a fan noticed that Shams Charania had an interesting reaction to the comment.

Others agreed that Charania's body language indicated that Durant would be a Spur soon.

"I really don’t feed into stuff like this, but this was actually something convincing. Shams knows, and now the world does. Also, to be honest I know KD wants to be a Spur bad that’s the best situation," one fan is now convinced that Charania knows.

"He’s a Spur, I keep saying this," a fan has always believed Durant would go to the Spurs.

"This look is 'Ishbia, I didn’t say it, he did,'" a fan joked that Charania was indicating that he hadn't said anything about the Spurs.

"When your friend guesses the ending of the movie right and you’re trying not to tell him," one used a hilarious analogy to describe this situation.

"The trades already done- just waiting for the finals to end," one fan believes the trade is already done.

Well, earlier this month, Bill Simmons claimed that Durant's trade to the Spurs had been finalized in secret. He believed the move would be announced during the week of the draft.

This post on X also came to Shumpert's attention, and his reaction gave even more belief to fans about Durant heading to San Antonio.

"I know what Shams wanted to say. Shams Charania gone be a great summer."

Charania had previously reported that the Spurs were one of Durant's preferred destinations, and he'd be willing to commit long-term to them. The Athletic then went a step further on Monday night.

"Out of Kevin Durant's preferred trade destinations, league sources tell The Athletic that he specifically wants to play for the San Antonio Spurs."

While there is talk about Durant and the Spurs being a done deal, other reports indicate nothing has been finalized. The Athletic's Jon Krawczynski and Sam Amick stated that the Suns haven't liked any of the offers on the table.

“With the offers from the Spurs, Rockets, and Heat coming up short to this point, league sources say the Suns are still hopeful that Durant might warm to the Timberwolves possibility.”

Charania was the one to report that Durant had no interest in going to the Minnesota Timberwolves. You could argue that a move to the Timberwolves would present him with his best chance to win a third title, but he isn't open to that move as of now.

Durant, who averaged 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 0.8 steals, and 1.2 blocks per game in 2024-25, has his eyes on the Spurs. It would be quite fascinating to see him and Victor Wembanyama team up.

Depending on who would get traded to the Suns to get Durant, the two superstars would be supported by the likes of De'Aaron Fox, Stephon Castle, Devin Vassell, Jeremy Sochan, and the second pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.

While the Spurs wouldn't be the favorites to win the championship with Durant, they would be in the mix. If Wembanyama can take another leap in his third season, then perhaps they could go on and win it all.
