The Orlando Magic improved their record with a 123-107 win over the Detroit Pistons on Monday night at the Kia Center in Orlando, Fla.

However, the Magic are now going to pay a price as the NBA has handed down a suspension. The Magic have been fined $25,000 due to reporting Anthony Black as “OUT” on the injury report, only to see him play and score 14 points in the game.

Black had missed a month and the previous 16 games due to a left lateral abdominal strain.

On Monday, the Magic listed Black as out on the initial injury report before surprisingly upgrading him to available less than two hours before tip-off.

Black, who had a viral dunk earlier this year against the Memphis Grizzlies, played 15 minutes and scored 14 points in the game, which had him third on the team in scoring.

Black was the No. 6 overall pick by the Magic in the 2023 NBA Draft after playing college basketball at Arkansas. This has been the best season of his young career as he is averaging 15.1 points per game with 3.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists.
