NBA futures: Odds for 2024 NBA champion

The Denver Nuggets are fresh off winning the 2023 NBA championship, but odds are already up and available for next year's winner. At this time last year, the Nuggets were nearly +2000 to be crowned champs, meaning there most definitely is value in loading up a futures bet in a market like this.

Still to come are the NBA Draft and free agency, the latter of which is sure to shift power in the league. While you may want to wait and see how that all unfolds, it couldn't hurt to get an understanding of where the odds lie.

Odds for 2024 NBA Champion

Odds are courtesy of DraftKings. Below are the top-15 favorites.

  1. Denver Nuggets (+475)
  2. Boston Celtics (+550)
  3. Milwaukee Bucks (+650)
  4. Phoenix Suns (+850)
  5. Los Angeles Lakers (+1200)
  6. Golden State Warriors (+1200)
  7. Philadelphia 76ers (+1300)
  8. Dallas Mavericks (+1400)
  9. Los Angeles Clippers (+1700)
  10. Miami Heat (+2000)
  11. Memphis Grizzlies (+2200)
  12. Cleveland Cavaliers (+2500)
  13. New Orleans Pelicans (+3500)
  14. New York Knicks (+4500)
  15. Sacramento Kings (+5000)

The biggest market fluctuation will occur once a few player options are accepted or declined, and the subsequent player movement to come in July.

James Harden (Philly) is one of the more notable names potentially on the move, as Harden has a player option he may exercise. Kyrie Irving is an unrestricted free agent; will his short time in Dallas convince him to sign with the Mavs long-term, or could he be on the move again as well?

Of the teams above, the most notable to lose a contributor is Phoenix, who waived Chris Paul. With Kevin Durant and Devin Booker still in the building, the Suns understandably remain near the top of the board.
