One NBA expert thinks the Golden State Warriors could trade Jonathan Kuminga to land a center who would be the perfect fit next to Stephen Curry.
The Golden State Warriors know they cannot keep Jonathan Kuminga for much longer, given how volatile the situation has gotten in recent weeks.
Kuminga re-signed for $48.6 million this summer after a tumultuous negotiation period between the two sides.
However, after a somewhat strong start, Steve Kerr has lost faith in Kuminga yet again, with the young star settling for a role off the bench.
With Kuminga clearly frustrated with his Warriors role, January 15th looks to be a pivotal date, as the Warriors look to trade him to make some much-needed upgrades to their roster.
According to Jake Fischer, the Golden State Warriors could look to land Myles Turner as part of a Jonathan Kuminga trade.
Both stars earn a similar salary, and the Warriors have had interest in Turner in the past. Furthermore, given the likelihood of a Giannis Antetokounmpo trade, the Warriors could capitalize on a Bucks fire sale.
“An interesting potential salary match for Golden State in Kuminga’s salary range would be Bucks center Myles Turner, who’s earning $25.1 million this season.
This trade would solve two big problems for the Golden State Warriors!

“Don’t forget that the Warriors have shown some real interest in Turner in the past, according to league sources, dating to well-chronicled trade discussions between Golden State and Indiana that included various concepts involving Kuminga, Andrew Wiggins, and Buddy Hield.
“As we reported Sunday, various teams are expected to show interest in pouncing on the Bucks’ veterans like Turner should they ultimately decide to field trade offers for the in-demand Giannis Antetokounmpo.”
The Golden State Warriors should do everything in their power to try and land Myles Turner for Jonathan Kuminga, provided the former is still with the Milwaukee Bucks come January 15th.
Turner provides the Warriors with excellent rim-protection and spacing in a way they’ve not had at the center spot since DeMarcus Cousins was with them.
Jonathan Kuminga seems likely to be traded once January 15th arrives.
What do you think the Warriors can get back in a trade for him?

On top of that, Turner is on one of the best contracts in the NBA, given the profile he fits into is one of the most sought-after in the NBA today.
Getting rid of Kuminga, a player Steve Kerr clearly has no interest in featuring, and landing an elite two-way center in Turner would be an excellent move.
While fans might gawk at potentially giving up a first-round pick, they must remember that the Bucks are likely to rebuild should they be willing to deal Turner, and the former Pacers center will have several suitors.
