NBA Insider Reveals 4-5 Players Could Be Picked No. 1 Overall
Steve Roberts-USA TODAY Sports

The Atlanta Hawks have landed the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming NBA Draft, sparking widespread speculation about their next move.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski described the draft as “the most unsettled first round since 2013,” citing the unpredictability of the top pick. Sam Vecenie of The Athletic echoed Wojnarowski’s thoughts, stating, “There is not really a consensus among teams about what the Hawks will do at the top.”

Big man Alex Sarr has emerged as a potential top pick, with Bleacher Report’s Jonathan Wasserman projecting him as the No. 1 overall pick in his latest mock draft.

Sarr’s defense stands out with his ability to defend multiple positions and protect the rim, and he can also extend his offensive game beyond the arc and has a soft touch as a scorer.

However, Wasserman’s big board also lists Nikola Topic, Reed Sheppard, and Ron Holland ahead of Sarr, highlighting the fluidity of the draft board.

This unpredictability is welcome news for teams that didn’t fare as well as the Hawks in the lottery, as they could still land an impact player with an early selection.

The 2024 NBA draft is scheduled for June 26-27, and all eyes are on the Hawks. Their decision could significantly impact the league’s landscape, and fans eagerly await their next move.

With the No. 1 pick in hand, the Hawks can add a talented young player to their roster, and their choice will likely have a ripple effect throughout the league.

As the draft approaches, speculation will continue to swirl, but one thing is certain—the Hawks’ decision will be crucial, and fans and teams alike will closely watch it.
