The Golden State Warriors' season came to a disappointing finish after what was poised to be another miracle run through the playoffs. An end to the season marks the time for future changes, and ESPN's Shams Charania shared some interesting insights into the Warriors' plans for roster upgrades in the offseason. He said:

"Sources told me in the last few hours, the Warriors will be incredibly aggressive in the marketplace to go find help, to continue to retool around their big 3 of Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Jimmy Butler."

Charania continued by saying, "I am told, their priority is finding a playmaking wing defender or a center to this group. A lot of it will come down to [who] Steve Kerr and the Big 3 feel like will help this team and fit their culture and their identity."

Charania's report indicates the Warriors' plans for the offseason. Although the team looked solid in the first round of the playoffs, they were outmatched and outhustled in their second-round matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

While the absence of Stephen Curry from the floor exacerbated the situation, it also made it abundantly clear that Golden State needed more support on the offensive front. When also considering the uncertainty of the team's future with a developing star like Jonathan Kuminga, the Warriors will need to move now if they are to construct a roster that can contend for the title next season itself.

As things stand, the Warriors' core is an aging one. All three of their star players are entering the twilight of their respective careers. Golden State needs to bolster some positions in a way that matches their stars' timeline.

There have been reports from the team's front office about their intention to add size in virtually every position. With this in mind, several players have emerged as potential trade targets in the offseason.

NBA Insider Links Warriors With Bucks Center In Free Agency

The Golden State Warriors are in a dire position to make key personnel additions to become a title contender next season. Considering their offseason plans, ESPN's Bobby Marks also shared a player who could be on the team's radar in the summer.

"I think the one name to keep any eye on regarding that center position is Brook Lopez," said Marks, while highlighting the Bucks center's relations to San Francisco.

"What is the number on a Brook Lopez contract if you can get him on a one-year flyer here to patch up that center position?" added Marks. "The center market is thin when you're looking at Myles Turner, you're probably not going to afford him. The next best guy out there is Brook Lopez."

Marks acknowledged the pros and cons of facilitating such a trade as well. The Warriors have some draft capital that can be leveraged in such a trade. However, the challenge lies in aggregating enough salary to afford a player like Lopez.

Lopez has certainly been one of the key names on the free agent market alongside Turner. Considering that he was earning upwards of $34 million in his last season with the Milwaukee Bucks, the Warriors will have a tough time signing him at the same price.

The task of offloading salaries could be a difficult one. However, with a few names already on the list, Golden State might just be able to make a run at the Bucks' big man in the offseason.
