The NBA announced its roster pool for the 2025 Rising Stars Challenge on Tuesday and to no surprise, Cason Wallace of the Oklahoma City Thunder was awarded a roster spot.

Wallace will join a list of NBA sophomores in the game that include Victor Wembanyama, Bilal Coulibaly, Brandon Miller and Amen Thompson. Of course, the Rising Stars game features 10 rookies, 11 sophomores and seven G League players.

This will be Wallace’s second Rising Stars appearance as he also participated in the event last year as a rookie. The 21-year-old has taken another step forward this season as he has become a starter for the championship contending Thunder.

This season, Wallace is averaging 7.5 points, 3.5 rebound, 2.5 assists and 1.7 steals per game while shooting 44.9% from the field and 34.1% from three. The 21-year-old has also started 30 games for the Thunder this season and has been a key contributor next to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander in the backcourt.

Of course, Wallace will join Shai and Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault for All-Star weekend in San Francisco. Shai was named as a starter for the NBA All-Star game and Daigneault and one of his assistant coaches are set to coach two of the All-Star teams.

Jalen Williams also has a chance to join his Thunder teammates at All-Star weekend as he has put together a strong season that could see him be rewarded with being named a first time All-Star on Thursday, Jan. 30.

Fans can catch the Rising Stars Challenge on Friday, Feb. 14 as three Rising Stars teams and one G League team will compete against each other. Of course, the winner of the Rising Stars tournament will be the fourth team to participate in the NBA All-Star game on Sunday, Feb. 16.
