
The Los Angeles Clippers recently faced off against the Los Angeles Lakers in a battle of the West Coast.
James Harden led the Clippers to a 103-88 victory, pulling off the upset to help his team earn its seventh win of the season. With the win over the Lakers, the Clippers advanced to 7-21 while the Lakers fell to 19-8.
Harden took over the offensive end, earning a double-double with 21 points and 10 assists. He was aided by Kawhi Leonard, who posted a 30-ball (32 points) and 12 rebounds against the Clippers' rival.
In the win over the Lakers, Harden wrote his name in the history books. James Harden moved into 12th all-time in assists, passing Andre Miller. He has accumulated 8,529 assists in his career.
"Congratulations to James Harden of the @laclippers for moving into 12th on the ALL-TIME ASSISTS list," posted the NBA during Saturday's game when Harden recorded his 8,525th assist.
The following players are ranked ahead of James Harden on the NBA's all-time assists list: Gary Payton, Isiah Thomas, Oscar Robertson, Russell Westbrook, Magic Johnson, Mark Jackson, Steve Nash, LeBron James, Jason Kidd, Chris Paul and John Stockton.
Stockton leads the NBA in all-time assists with 15,806 in his career with the Utah Jazz. He holds a strong lead over the No. 2 player on the list, Chris Paul, who has posted 12,552 assists in his career.
James led the Lakers with 36 points, but teammate Luka Doncic left the game in the second quarter with an injury and did not return.
The Clippers are back in action at 10 p.m. ET Tuesday at home against the Houston Rockets.
