Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics came up short on Tuesday night. After dominating the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 1, 123-91, the Celtics came crashing back down to earth in Game 2 on Tuesday. The Sixers tied the series up at 1-1 after a crucial 111-97 victory on the road.
Tatum produced a 19-point, 14-rebound double-double with nine assists, a steal and two three-pointers. Jaylen Brown went off for a game-high 36 points with five triples.
This still wasn’t enough for the Celtics, though. Rookie VJ Edgecombe (30 points, 10 rebounds) and Tyrese Maxey (29 points, nine assists) led the charge for the 76ers in Tuesday's big win.
Tatum, however, was able to make some history in their Game 2 loss. He knocked down two triples in the game to climb the leaderboards in postseason three-pointers.
The NBA took to social media to announce Tatum’s latest career milestone.
“Congrats to @jaytatum0 of the @celtics for moving up to 10th on the all-time playoff 3-POINTERS MADE list!” the NBA posted on X.

Tatum just passed two-time NBA champion J.R. Smith to move into the Top 10. The Celtics star is now just 20 triples behind Danny Green for ninth all-time.
Tatum’s next chance to add to his tally will be on Friday in Game 3. This series now shifts to Philadelphia for Games 3 and 4. The Celtics will need to win at least one of those games to reclaim home-court advantage in this Eastern Conference first-round series.
