The NBA made an adjustment to the lineup for the 74th All-Star Game set for Sunday at Chase Center in San Francisco.

In his debut for the Dallas Mavericks following a trade from the Los Angeles Lakers, Anthony Davis exited the team's matchup against the Houston Rockets on Saturday due to an adductor strain.

Davis scored 26 points and recorded 16 rebounds before leaving the contest. The power forward will miss several games, including the All-Star contest.

Per the NBA, Mavs guard Kyrie Irving will take the place of his new teammate for the exhibition match.

Via the NBA:

"Dallas Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving has been named by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver to replace injured Mavericks forward-center Anthony Davis on Team Shaq in the 2025 NBA All-Star Game.

This is the ninth NBA All-Star selection for Irving, who is averaging 24.1 points, 4.6 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game while shooting 47.5% from the field, 40.7% from three-point range and 90.1% from the free throw line in 42 games this season."

Irving last made an All-Star appearance in 2023. He earned the game's MVP honor in 2014.

The Mavericks have the eighth-best record in the Western Conference at 28-25.
