Orlando has trimmed its roster to regular-season size, waiving guards Reece Beekman, Lester Quinones, and Javonte Smart, along with forward Phillip Wheeler, per Jason Beede of The Orlando Sentinel.
All four were in camp on Exhibit 10 contracts and are expected to report to the Osceola Magic in the G League if they clear waivers. Each will earn an $85,300 bonus if they spend at least 60 days with the affiliate.
Beekman and Quinones both logged NBA minutes last season. Beekman appeared in 36 games for the Warriors and Nets, while Quinones saw action in 13 games with the Sixers and Pelicans.
Smart and Wheeler, who also have NBA experience, spent most of last year in the G League.
Meanwhile, center Colin Castleton’s Exhibit 10 deal has been converted into a two-way contract.
Orlando now sits at 14 standard players and three two-way contracts — a full roster heading into opening night.
Charlotte has waived rookie forward Eric Dixon, the team announced.
Dixon, who led all Division I players in scoring last season at Villanova (23.3 PPG), joined the Hornets on an Exhibit 10 deal earlier this month after being cut by the Lakers.
The 6-foot-8 forward was once projected as a potential two-way player for Los Angeles, but lingering foot issues prevented him from participating in Summer League.
Assuming he clears waivers, Dixon is expected to join the Greensboro Swarm, Charlotte’s G League affiliate, where he can earn an Exhibit 10 bonus worth up to $85,300 if he remains with the team for 60 days.
Oklahoma City made several final roster moves, converting guard Chris Youngblood’s Exhibit 10 deal into a two-way contract and waiving forwards Zack Austin, Malevy Leons, and Dariq Whitehead, per the team.
Youngblood, who went undrafted out of Alabama, impressed in preseason play, averaging 11.0 points on 44% shooting from three. He’ll now split time between the Thunder and the OKC Blue.
Austin, Leons, and Whitehead all signed Exhibit 10 deals and are expected to join the Blue, where they can earn bonuses of $85,300 apiece if they stay at least 60 days.
With those moves, the Thunder have finalized their opening-night roster with 15 guaranteed contracts and three two-way players.
