The Bulls are bringing in dunk champ Mac McClung.
Per Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, McClung has agreed to a deal with Chicago. The 26-year-old is best known for his back-to-back-to-back Slam Dunk Contest titles, but he’s still looking to carve out a consistent NBA role.
McClung has appeared in just six regular-season games across four teams since 2021. He spent last season on a two-way deal with Orlando, logging only 10 minutes at the NBA level but dominating the G League.
With Osceola, he averaged 23 points, 5.4 assists, and 3.9 rebounds on 48% shooting — earning All-G League First Team honors.
Chicago already has 15 guaranteed contracts and three two-way players, so this will almost certainly be an Exhibit 10 deal. If McClung joins the Windy City Bulls and stays at least 60 days, he’ll earn a bonus of up to $85,300.
New Clippers forward John Collins says Los Angeles was on his radar long before the trade from Utah became official, he told Law Murray of The Athletic.
“It’s great,” head coach Tyronn Lue said, via Murray. “We get a big player like John on the floor alongside Kawhi (Leonard). Teams have a nightmare trying to match up. His versatility on both sides of the ball is a huge thing for us.”
Collins said the Clippers were “one of the first teams” he thought of when trade rumors started. He’s expected to play both frontcourt spots and give Lue’s team another athletic scoring option next to Leonard and James Harden.
The Knicks have had some light extension talks with center Mitchell Robinson but nothing serious, per ESPN’s Brian Windhorst.
Robinson has been one of the NBA’s best rim protectors when healthy, though the Knicks plan to manage his minutes after a run of injuries.
Windhorst adds that there’s no urgency to discuss a new deal with Karl-Anthony Towns, either. The All-Star big man remains extension-eligible but is under contract for at least two more seasons with a player option after that.
