Celtics wing Jaylen Brown’s father, Marselles Brown, was arrested in Las Vegas on an attempted murder charge, according to TMZ Sports.
The elder Brown, a former professional boxer, allegedly stabbed a youth football coach during an argument over a parking space. NBC News 3 Las Vegas confirmed the report, noting the confrontation began when a passenger in Brown’s SUV struck the coach’s car door.
Neither the Celtics nor anyone affiliated with the organization has commented, nor frankly, should they.
There is still no indication any team other than the Kings is seriously considering signing Russell Westbrook, NBA insider Jake Fischer said on a recent Bleacher Report livestream.
“We are still waiting to see what other moves could come in Sacramento before the Kings try to bring Russell Westbrook in,” Fischer said. “And that’s been the one home all along that we really have looked at for Russell Westbrook and that’s still the home that I have heard earlier this week is the most likely outcome for Russell Westbrook if he’s gonna be in the NBA at all. Honestly, that’s really the only home we’ve heard for him.”
The 37-year-old guard remains unsigned after de clining his player option with the Nuggets earlier this offseason.
Mavericks No. 1 pick Cooper Flagg continues to generate high expectations entering his rookie season. Former NBA All-Star Blake Griffin discussed the hype on the Post Moves podcast with Candace Parker and Aliyah Boston.
“I think he is the most complete player that we’ve seen come into the NBA in recent memory,” Griffin said, via Dallas Hoops Journal. “I’m not saying he doesn’t have room to grow — he still has a ton of room to grow — but he passes, shoots, defends, rebounds. He seems like a great teammate, a great kid.
“There is, like, what’s the red flag? Which is really exciting for basketball to have these young guys. … Cooper is just able to play and guard so many different positions.”
Flagg, 19, will make his NBA debut this fall as the youngest of Dallas’ otherwise veteran young core.
