We have a total of 3 NBA props for this Monday, and I’m focused on a trio of key players who could be in line for noteworthy performances in Game 4 between the Timberwolves and Thunder tonight.
Continue below for my NBA player props for Monday, May 26.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had at least eight assists in five consecutive games against Minnesota. That streak came to an end on Saturday, but he still had six assists while playing just 28 minutes due to the blowout.
In Game 3, Gilgeous-Alexander had 11 potential assists, so he converted at a decent ratio. However, the Thunder shot just 40.7% as a team.
A better shooting performance should lead to more assists for him.
His teammates may have to knock down more shots because Minnesota prioritized limiting SGA’s impact and forcing his teammates to make them.
They couldn’t do it, and the game got out of hand. However, this is a new game, and the Thunder are still up 2-1 in the series.
Gilgeous-Alexander has had at least six assists in nine of his last 10 games, clearing this line in six of them. He is averaging 7.7 per game in this series thus far. Seven will clear this line tonight.
Pick: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Over 6.5 Assists (-140, BetMGM)
Minnesota has Rudy Gobert, who has averaged 10+ rebounds in each of the last 10 years, and Julius Randle, who has averaged over nine rebounds per game in his career.
Yet, their best rebounder at the moment may be their best player, Anthony Edwards. The 23-year-old has led or tied for the team lead with nine rebounds in each of the first three games.
Edwards has had at least nine rebounds in each of his last five games against the Thunder, averaging 10 per game in that span.
He has averaged 14.2 rebound chances in those games and 12.4 over his last 10 games overall. He has had eight rebounds in seven of those games and finished with seven in another.
With the exception of Saturday, Edwards has played heavy minutes and averages about 39 minutes per game in the playoffs.
If he plays until the fourth quarter, he will likely approach 40 minutes again. That will give him the opportunity to grab eight rebounds once more.
Pick: Anthony Edwards Over 7.5 Rebounds (-140, DraftKings)
In the first matchup of this series, I played Nickeil Alexander-Walker for over 5.5 points. He started 1-for-9 from the field but made his last two shots and finished with eight points on the night.
He has been more efficient in the last two games, going 10-for-17 from the field and 5-for-8 from three, scoring 17 and 12, respectively.
As a result, this line has gone up a tad. However, Alexander-Walker averaged 9.4 points per game in the regular season and 12.3 per game in this series.
We don’t need him to do anything out of the ordinary to clear this number.
As expected, Alexander-Walker has been motivated to beat his cousin. He has also seen an uptick in minutes in this series and figures to see about 23-25 minutes. He helped Minnesota get 66 points off the bench in Game 3.
We will take nine from him tonight.
Pick: Nickeil Alexander-Walker Over 8.5 Points (-110, Fanatics)
