NBA Props for Tuesday Jan. 23: O'Neale is a steal

Obviously, yesterday was the day to bet Joel Embiid overs as he set personal highs in points and rebounds. To be honest, I am more impressed with his consistency as he keeps posting 30+ point efforts. Of course, his efforts overshadowed Karl-Anthony Towns' 62-point effort. As it should, given that it came in a home loss. Classic KAT.

Hopefully, both drew attention from my 0-3-1 performance last night too. I hate when Mondays are not profitable. Then you are chasing it all week long. One rebound by Dereck Lively or assist from Dejounte Murray and it is a different story.

Tonight we have five games in the NBA including Lakers vs. Clippers. I might watch that one but I found values elsewhere.

NBA Props for Tuesday, January 23

Royce O'Neale Over 3.5 Rebounds (+120)

O'Neale is hardly a household name. He is one of those players who is more useful than he is productive in the grand scheme of things. However, he is averaging better than four rebounds on the season so this one feels mispriced as the Nets host New York tonight. The one caveat is that his minutes can be sporadic, but just a few games ago he had seven rebounds in just 17 minutes of action. He does not need to dominate to get this one.

Pascal Siakam More Points than Jamal Murray (+145)

This one is a little about feel. I like the fit of Siakam in Indiana, especially so when the offense gets humming again with the return of Ty Haliburton. He has just a couple of games with the Pacers and is averaging 18 ppg. That is below his 22 ppg with Toronto (which is higher than Murray's average on the season). This is the first home game with his new club, and they need him tonight.

Kris Dunn Over 1.5 Steals (+170)

Dunn has found new life in Utah. His minutes can be up and down but one thing that never wavers is a max effort on defense. I like this play even though it is above his average production because the payoff is so great. Also, New Orleans is in the middle third of NBA teams when it comes to turnovers, so getting a couple of steals seems reasonable. They do not have one of those lead guards that really controls the action. He has had multiple steals four times in the last 10 games.

CJ McCollum More Points than Collin Sexton (+130)

Sexton is on a heater recently. However, I am sticking with the more established scorer in McCollum, who is also besting him for the season, 19 ppg vs 17 ppg. If you look at splits you see that Sexton scores less on the road than at home. McCollum's splits are not favorable either but in the end, there is great value with the veteran.
