All Myles Turner has ever known in his NBA career is Indiana Pacers basketball. Turner has spent 10 seasons with the Pacers after being selected 11th overall by the organization in the 2015 NBA Draft. This decade-long union may be facing some seriously murky waters.
Turner is still as productive as ever. The Pacers big man is averaging 15.4 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.9 blocks, and 0.8 steals while shooting 48.3 percent from the field and 39.6 percent from beyond the arc in the 2024-25 NBA season.
The fact that Turner is playing in the last year of his contract with the Pacers has flown under the radar to some. With no extension, Turner is playing out the last $19.9 million of his current deal before getting set to potentially hit the open market as an unrestricted free agent in the 2025 offseason.
The worrying note surrounding Turner's future in Indiana comes from NBA insider Jake Fischer. In his appearance on the Dunc’d On Basketball NBA Podcast, Fischer revealed a worrisome report.
The NBA insider claimed rival executives do not expect the Pacers to pay Turner the salary he is seeking. The rumored salary demand is expected to be around $30 million per year.
It was not too long ago that Brett Siegel revealed Turner as an unexpected name that Indiana has been willing to take calls on. Perhaps, given what is being reported, the Pacers' two-way center will have his name ramp up as a popular trade candidate for buying teams before the NBA Trade Deadline comes to pass on Feb. 6.
