Sports writers at Action Network tend to have a talent for winning bets. Well, let’s take some of their +EV bets and put them in a same-game parlay.

Each day, we have best bets from our NFL, NBA, NHL and MLB analysts who cover sides, totals and niche markets like player prop bets. As recreational bettors, we all like to occasionally indulge in our degenerate side. So, when the time comes, let’s do it responsibly and create a fun, low-stakes same-game parlay.

For today’s same-game parlay, we’ll use Game 2 of the Western Conference Final between the Dallas Mavericks and Minnesota Timberwolves on May 24.

Mavericks vs. Timberwolves Game 2 Same-Game Parlay

  1. P.J. Washington Over 5.5 Rebounds
  2. Karl-Anthony Towns Over 20.5 Points
  3. Mike Conley Under 6.5 Assists

Parlay Odds: +495

P.J. Washington

Over 5.5 Rebounds (DraftKings)

One of the bright spots for the Dallas Mavericks during this postseason run has been the emergence of forward P.J. Washington.

The former Charlotte Hornet has become a 3-point sniper and another shooter for superstar Luka Doncic to count on when he needs to swing the ball.

While the 3-point heroics are notable, what’s been underrated from Washington is his ability to rebound the ball.

That’s why Brian Matthews is riding with the over on his rebound prop and has tracked this bet in our Action app for Game 2.

His reasoning comes down to this:

“He’s gone over this number in four straight games vs. Minnesota (8, 7, 7, 7) and over this number in six of his last seven games overall (6, 11, 6, 12, 10, 5, 7). The one game where he fell short, he finished with five rebounds.”

Karl-Anthony Towns

Over 20.5 Points (DraftKings)

Anthony Edwards may be the face of the Minnesota Timberwolves, but the X-factor for the Wolves’ championship aspirations may come down to another former No. 1-overall pick, Karl-Anthony Towns.

Towns can be polarizing in the basketball community with some of his decision making, but one thing that shouldn’t be debated is his scoring ability, especially from the 3-point range.

Joe Dellera is expecting a bounce-back game from the Wolves' big man in Game 2:

“KAT had all of the volume in the world in Game 1, with 20 field-goal attempts and nine 3-point attempts, but he simply couldn't convert, as he scored just 16 points with just six makes.”

“KAT has averaged 21.2 points per game this season, and even though the output is down in the playoffs, this is a better matchup for him. Plus, the 20 FGAs were the most he’s taken this entire postseason.”

“Conservatively, he should take 15 shots, which is his season average. When he takes 15 or more shots he's exceeded 20.5 points in 74% of games while averaging 25.2 points per game.”

Mike Conley

Under 6.5 Assists (DraftKings)

We faded Timberwolves point guard Mike Conley on his assists prop in Game 1, and it worked out for us in cashing the Game 1 same-game parlay.

According to Alex Hinton, we need to keep going back to under 6.5 assists:

“As expected, Conley saw a decrease in his minutes compared to Game 7 against Denver. He played 31 minutes, and it wouldn't be a surprise if he saw his minutes cut a little more if head coach Chris Finch opts for bigger lineups to defend Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving.”

“Conley has gone under this line in five of his last six games. He's averaging 5.5 assists in that span and also four assists over his last three games. He also has reached seven assists in just one of his last five games against the Mavericks while averaging 4.4 assists.”

“Additionally, Conley had 11 potential assists in Game 1. Converting 63% of them is still a bit high to cover this line. However, what I really found interesting is that Conley only had three assists in a game in which the Timberwolves made 18 3s and attempted 49 of them.”
