NBA Sends Reminder to Everyone About LeBron James

LeBron James is about to reach yet another significant milestone. Ahead of the Lakers' game against the Nuggets, the NBA sent a reminder to the world of what’s at stake in Ball Arena.

For decades, Lakers legend Kareem Abdul -Jabbar held the No. 1 spot in several NBA lists. While LeBron has overtaken him in most cases, one stat remained intact. Kareem’s 15,837 career field goals made him untouchable.

But James, whose career field goals stand at 15,835, is just shy of three more FGs to surpass the Lakers Legend. And that record could be achieved if LeBron manages to score three Field Goals against the Nuggets. "He can break the record tonight", wrote the NBA while promoting the historic game.

The potential milestone is particularly fitting given how often James has already crossed paths with Abdul-Jabbar in the NBA record books. In 2018, LeBron surpassed Lakers Legend in all-time playoff field goals list. The four-time champion has kept adding to his resume ever since.

James became the league's all-time top scorer in February 2023, surpassing Abdul-Jabbar's record of 38,387 points in what is regarded as one of the most significant moments in modern basketball history.

James also surpassed Abdul-Jabbar in 2024 for the most regular-season minutes played in NBA history, highlighting the 41-year-old's durability in the league for more than two decades. The record remained untouched for 35 years until LeBron overtook.

As the Lakers continue to push in the Western Conference standings, winning games is still their top priority. But instances like this demonstrate how long James' career has lasted. He is still producing at a high level at the age of 41, and he is either already at the top of several of the most important statistical categories in NBA history or is steadily rising.

All eyes will be on the Lakers-Nuggets game as James is once again poised to rewrite the league's records with just three more baskets to make.
