Fans of the Phoenix Suns were likely in utter shock at how this past NBA season went.
After going to the NBA Finals just four years ago, the Suns went into a tailspin and cratered.
Considering the team was swept out of the NBA Playoffs by the Minnesota Timberwolves last year, fans likely hoped it would contend for a top seed in the Western Conference or at least a playoff spot.
Instead, the Suns could barely keep their head above water as Durant dealt with injuries for much of the season, never allowing them to get into a groove.
Some out there already believe Mat Ishbia is in total control of roster transactions and moves, especially after acquiring players like Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal at the expense of the team's draft capital for the foreseeable future.
However, new GM Brian Gregory revealed the truth on the matter.
"Mat and I are a team. We are completely aligned....I report to Mat Ishbia," Gregory said. "Mat is an owner that is involved, and I like that. But he has also empowered me to build this team.
"I'm never going to shy away from the fact that the reason I'm sitting up here is because of my relationship with Mat Ishbia."

After playing college basketball at Navy and Oakland, Gregory started coaching at Michigan State as an assistant from 1990 to 1996. After a few years at Toledo and Northwestern, he returned to Michigan State from 1999 to 2003.
Ishbia was on the 2000 team that won the National Championship, so the two have had a bond since.
Gregory was the vice president of player programming before taking over for James Jones, who now serves as a senior advisor to the team.
The Suns will likely look to address their head coach vacancy before making any player personnel changes.
