This offseason, the Phoenix Suns are expected to trade superstar Kevin Durant to an on-the-rise team. The Minnesota Timberwolves, San Antonio Spurs, and Houston Rockets have all been listed as possible landing spots, with the hopes that Durant could be the missing piece needed to take the next step.

After a disapointing loss in the Eastern Conference Finals, the New York Knicks have been linked to some premier trade targets, namely Giannis Antetokounmpo, although they certainly have the means to add Durant, depending on the other offers Phoenix is given.

According to Shams Charania, the Knicks have long been interested in KD and even made an offer at the trade deadline.

"There was some mutual interest between Kevin Durant and the Knicks at the trade deadline," Charania said on ESPN. "The Knicks made an offer for Kevin Durant at the NBA trade deadline. Obviously, there was no Kevin Durant trade. We'll see what happens in the next couple of weeks."

Before the deadline, Mikal Bridges was not living up to the expectations, and the Knicks may have felt compelled to trade him. While Bridges and Anunoby get close to Durant's salary, Karl-Anthony Towns is the best financial fit.

The Suns could use a center, and while Towns is not the defensive maestro they would prefer, he is the best scoring center in the league aside from Nikola Jokic.

On top of that, Towns and Booker have long been close friends and played together in college. While the Spurs, Rockets, and Wolves can offer better future-driven packages, the Knicks will be a team to watch.
