New York Knicks: Former NBA Star Blatantly Blames Tom Thibodeau for Team’s Injury Woes
Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

The New York Knicks are in a world of hurt right now. I guess you could say that this is literally the case for the Knicks now that their injury list has grown to almost uncontrollable proportions.

Julius Randle and Mitchell Robinson are out for the season. There’s a lot of uncertainty surrounding OG Anunoby’s health, and now Jalen Brunson has been banged up pretty badly.

According to former NBA star Chandler Parsons, the common denominator among all these injuries is none other than head coach Tom Thibodeau.

New York Knicks News: Is Tom Thibodeau to Blame for Injury Woes?

Parsons did not hold back in pointing the finger at Coach Thibs. According to the retired former NBA star, who himself was no stranger to major injuries during his playing days, it’s Thibodeau and his coaching style that’s to blame for New York’s injury headaches:

“This is why that players’ poll came out with guys that don’t want to play for [Tom Thibodeau], because it doesn’t last, you can’t sustain it in such a long season,” Parsons said.

Parsons pointed out that Thibodeau asking his players to log such heavy minutes is a significant factor in their injury worries. He’s not wrong about that fact, and all you’d need to do is look at Josh Hart and the 46.4 minutes he averaged in the first three games of the Indiana Pacers series.

Then again, Hart looks fine and he hasn’t been injured despite literally playing a full 48 minutes in Games 1 and 2 against Indiana. That’s for now, at least.
