New York Knicks Not Out of Race to Trade For Superstar, Insider Says

The New York Knicks are on a roll, up 3-1 in their NBA Playoffs series against the Boston Celtics.

A win on Wednesday would advance the Knicks to their first Eastern Conference Finals appearance since 2000.

While the Knicks likely love their roster, there's always room for improvement, especially if particular players become available in the offseason.

Knicks could make trade for superstar

The Knicks clearly have their eye on the Larry O'Brien Trophy this season, and how they perform down the stretch in pursuit of it will likely dictate their moves this summer.

According to SNYtv's Ian Begley, the Knicks could be in the market for one of the league's biggest names if the player decides they want a change.

That player is none other than Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo.

"League sources familiar with the dynamic say it would be foolish to count the Knicks out because of their roster construction," according to Begley.

"After trading for Karl-Anthony Towns and Mikal Bridges and re-signing OG Anunoby, the Knicks - on paper - don’t look like a team that could trade for Antetokounmpo.

Despite being knocked out of the playoffs in the first round for the third consecutive season, Antetokounmpo is still at the top of his game.

He averaged 30.9 points per game in the regular season and looked even better in the playoffs, averaging 33 points and 15.4 rebounds per game.

If the Knicks fall short of an NBA Championship, it would be difficult not to picture what the Knicks would look like with a player like Antetokounmpo at the helm, joining Jalen Brunson.

The Knicks have a hefty salary after trading for Karl-Anthony Towns and Mikal Bridges, but with the possibility of adding a generational talent like Antetokounmpo, it would be foolish not to consider it and explore precisely what it would take.
