Jacob Toppin is coming off his rookie season where he appeared in nine games for the New York Knicks.
The former Kentucky star finished the year with averages of 1.4 points per contest while shooting 55.6% from the field.
On Wednesday, the Knicks announced that they have officially signed Toppin to a two-way contract.

Toppin spent the majority of his year in the G League.
He averaged 19.8 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.0 blocks per contest while shooting 48.8% from the field and 33.8% from the three-point range in 25 regular season games.

He is an intriguing player for New York and spent all of last year with the organization.
In addition, Toppin is the younger brother of former Knicks star Obi.
The Knicks have a very deep roster, so it's unlikely that Toppin will get a lot of playing time.
However, if he has another good season in the G League, it could help his case to get minutes when he is with the NBA team.

Last year, the Knicks were the second seed in the Eastern Conference with a 50-32 record.
After defeating Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round of the NBA playoffs, the Knicks lost to the Indiana Pacers in the second round (in seven games).
If they can have a healthy season, the Knicks should be seen as a legitimate contender to reach the 2025 NBA Finals.
